Kanye Shares First Look at New YEEZY HOME Construction
Kanye West’s ill-fated YEEZY Home project appears to be back underway. The rapper and presidential hopeful shared construction images of the impressive dome structures to his Twitter yesterday. He captioned the image, “YZY SHLTRS in process #2020VISION.”

West had been talking about launching a social housing project for some time, and back in August last year, we got a first look at the 50-foot prefabricated dome-like structures he’d been developing in Calabasas.
Unfortunately, neither Ye’s neighbors nor the Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Works was impressed by the constructions. West’s team was ordered to tear down the first prototypes as they had neglected to obtain the correct permits.
Based on his latest tweet, West has now secured the correct permissions and has resumed construction on the “YZY SHLTRS” project, which he previously indicated might provide shelter to the homeless.
The design of the structures was apparently inspired in part by the fictional desert planet of Tatooine, the home of Luke and Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars series.
In a 2018 interview with Charlamagne Tha God, West explained that he planned to build five properties on his 300-acre Calabasas estate as part of his “first community … I’m getting into development,” he said. “Anybody that’s ever been to any of my cribs knows I’m super into developing homes. It’s just the next frontier for me, to develop.” via Fashion Archive • Selectism https://ift.tt/3f3xZDd
